The Sabari Portal can be accessed on mobile phones and computers without downloading an app
Kottayam: Pathanamthitta: District administration has launched the Sabari Portal and a WhatsApp chatbot to give Sabarimala pilgrims access to essential information and services on one platform. Revenue minister A P Anil Kumar inaugurated the facilities, saying digital technology would help monitor every stage of the pilgrimage. Accessible at https://sabariportaldcpta.in on phones and computers without downloading an app, the portal also allows officials to monitor departmental work, route complaints and track action taken. For pilgrims, the portal provides a map of drinking water points, toilets, medical facilities, police services, parking areas, rest stops and ATMs at Pampa, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam, with directions through Google Maps. It displays darshan waiting times, pilgrim counts, pooja schedules, trekking routes and the water level and access status of Pampa Triveni ghat. It also links to virtual queue bookings, KSRTC ticketing and train schedules for Chengannur, Thiruvalla and Kottayam.
Missing-person reports are forwarded to the police control room, while complaints about lost property can include photographs. A ‘Check My Bill’ feature lets pilgrims compare shop prices with approved rates and report overcharging.
Sanitation work across 15 zones at Sannidhanam, involving around 300–400 workers, is monitored through three-hourly reporting tickets. Magistrates can submit signed reports every four hours. When a death is reported, senior officials, including dtistrict collector, get an email alert. For officials, a dashboard manages duty assignments, attendance and staff notifications. Hospitals can record outpatient and inpatient data, referrals and follow-up care. Upgraded emergency control centres at three locations receive geographically routed complaints. The dashboard also tracks weather, reservoir levels, wildlife attacks, accidents and bus services.
