Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the appointment letters distribution ceremony for scientific officers selected by the state Public Service Commission, in Lucknow
He made the remarks while distributing appointment letters to 28 scientific officers selected through Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). Highlighting the state’s recruitment record, he said around 9.5 lakh people had been given govt jobs over the past 9.5 years, including more than 2.30 lakh personnel recruited to Uttar Pradesh Police through a transparent process. Yogi said the state required about 500 police personnel for forensic evidence collection but had already trained more than 600 officers.
The selection was based solely on ability and merit,” Yogi said. During the ceremony, the chief minister stressed the need for transparency and impartiality in the justice system and expressed hope that the newly appointed officers would uphold the same values reflected in their recruitment process. “The selection of these scientific officers is an example of the integrity of governance and the transparency of the recruitment process. No recommendation was needed, no bribe was paid and no improper means had to be used.
He urged the officers to ensure justice for every victim and said credible forensic evidence was essential to secure the conviction of criminals while protecting innocent people from wrongful punishment. He said the role of scientific officers extended beyond collecting evidence to preserving its authenticity and presenting it in a manner that could prove decisive in securing convictions.
