An unidentified man impersonating a delivery agent targeted a senior citizen in Mumbai’s Kandivali area.
MUMBAI: An unidentified man allegedly posing as a delivery agent snatched the gold chain of a 76-year-old woman inside a residential society in Mumbai’s Kandivali area, police said on Friday.
Senior Inspector Karan Kawale of Kandivali police station said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused. CCTV footage from the society, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the accused approaching Rupani and repeatedly asking her for what appears to be an address. As the senior citizen turns towards her flat, the man suddenly attempts to snatch her gold chain. Despite her resistance, he manages to flee with it.
The incident took place on Tuesday night when the victim, Aruna Anilkant Rupani, was standing near the elevator outside her flat at Uman Society on Mathuradas Extension Road.
