The NFL star, who has already earned millions during his professional career, is reportedly dealing with a staggering financial situation after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Rice listed just $13,640 in his checking accounts, a surprisingly small amount considering his NFL earnings, according to reports citing his federal bankruptcy filing. The filing reportedly reveals more than $3.45 million in total liabilities, putting the spotlight on the 26-year-old receiver’s financial troubles. The documents reportedly list his total personal assets at approximately $677,054. Among those assets is deferred compensation valued at around $421,825. His Super Bowl LVIII championship ring is also reportedly listed at an estimated $160,000. Rice entered the NFL in 2023 after being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the draft. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth approximately $6.5 million.

His reported bankruptcy filing now adds another unexpected chapter to his NFL journey. And that’s not even the most surprising part of the documents. He quickly became an important part of the Chiefs’ receiving group, helping the franchise win Super Bowl LVIII during his rookie season. However, his career has also been marked by injuries, suspensions and legal controversies.
