Assistant commissioner and temple administrative officer Jagadish Gangannavar said the administration expects 28 to 30 lakh devotees to visit the temple this year. Around 2 lakh to 2.5 lakh devotees are visiting daily, while the number rises to nearly 3 lakh on weekends and holidays. The administration expects this year’s footfall and revenue to surpass the previous record before the festival concludes on Nov 11.
With large crowds expected during the Deepavali holidays, the district administration has appealed to devotees to maintain peace and cooperate with officials. Necessary arrangements have been made for safe and smooth darshan. Union minister HD Kumaraswamy is scheduled to visit the temple on Sunday morning, followed by chief minister DK Shivakumar, who will offer special prayers.
