The organisations said such incidents in hostels, where students are expected to pursue their education and build their future, raise serious concerns about student safety and hostel administration. They alleged that adequate attention was not being given to safety, healthcare and basic facilities in hostels, which are meant to support students’ academic growth and well-being. Demanding that the exact cause of death be established, the organisations called for all facts related to the incident to be made public. They also cautioned against any attempt to close the case by treating it as an accidental death without a thorough probe. The demand was raised by DYFI state president Lavitra, district president Sameena, district secretary Pramod, district vice-president Babasab, SFI district president Sujatha, district secretary Imam Sab and district committee member Pradeep. Kalaburagi : The district units of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and Students’ Federation of India (SFI) have expressed shock over the suspicious death of a student identified as Mujahid Patel, 20, at Ambedkar Hostel in the city and demanded an impartial investigation into the incident.
