Shobha yatra (religious procession) was also taken out. Since morning, devotees offered garlands made of marigold flowers and Tulsi leaves to the Lord at different temples of the city, including Bade Hanuman Temple of Sangam, Hanuman Temple of Civil Lines, Rambagh, High Court, etc. All temples witnessed heavy rush; long queues of devotees were witnessed at Hanuman Temple of Civil Lines and Sangam. At Hanuman Temple of Sangam, the ‘Maha Abhishekam’ of the deity was performed. Likewise, Shobha Yatra was also taken out at several areas of the city, including Tripollia (zero road), Rambagh and Allahapur. Over a dozen children dressed as Hanuman, Shiva, Ram, Laxman and other gods and goddesses walked the street as devotees offered obeisance and danced to the tune of religious songs. In another procession, devotees took out the shobha yatra in Allahapur locality which started from Labour Crossing and, after reaching Baghambari Gaddi, came back to its starting point. Prayagraj: Temples of Lord Hanuman were decorated with flowers and lights, and bhandaras were organised in the city on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday. Remarkably, since the occasion fell on Saturday, devotees of the Sangam city enthusiastically celebrated the day with much fervour and devotion. A special five-day event, organised at Lete Hanuman Temple of Sangam, also concluded today.
