Chitradurga: Private bus fares in Chitradurga district will go up from midnight on Nov 8, following the state govt’s decision to increase KSRTC bus fares.
Association president BA Lingareddy said private bus fares were last revised in July 2021. Of the 240 private buses in the district, only 180 are currently operational, while 60 have stopped services. The District Private Bus Owners’ Association has decided to revise fares in line with the hike announced by KSRTC.
He said the implementation of govt’s Shakti scheme had further affected private bus operators financially. Association secretary GB Shekhar said the latest KSRTC fare hike had made a revision of private bus fares unavoidable. He appealed to passengers to cooperate with the decision.
