Pilibhit: Police registered an FIR against five people, including a 40-year-old man and his alleged mistress, for allegedly abetting the suicide of his 35-year-old wife, who died at a hospital in Bareilly district on Friday shortly after consuming poison at her home in Saijna village.
SHO Jai Shankar Singh said, “An FIR was registered against the accused under BNS sections 85 (subjecting a woman to cruelty by husband or his relatives) and 108 (abetment to suicide). Gangaram alleged that Kumar returned home with the woman five days before the incident and assaulted and harassed Somvati.
