Times News Network Kanpur: A 25-year-old man who was on a video call with his wife while taking a stroll at a ghat is feared drowned after he slipped and fell into the Ganga river in Kanpur. Due to Shrawan Monday, water police and divers were present at the Ganga bank. He suddenly lost balance and slipped towards deep waters and began to drown.

Kamal was speaking to his wife on a video call while standing in the river, according to eyewitnesses. Kamal Gautam, a local resident, had come with friends to bathe in the Ganga at the Khereswar Saraiya ghat in Shivrajpur on the last Shrawan Somvar. Seeing him drowning, his friends raised an alarm. Some divers present at the ghat rushed to help him but Kamal soon disappeared into the depths of the Ganga. Divers and water police searched for him in the Ganga with the help of a motorboat and other resources but he remained untraceable.

The incident occurred on Monday evening and the man still remains missing.
