NAVI MUMBAI: Raigad district Superintendent of Police (SP) Anchal Dalal has externed three alleged criminals from the jurisdiction of Raigad Police, as well as the neighbouring Pune and Navi Mumbai police commissionerates, for two years, an official said on Friday.
The externed criminals from Khalapur taluka include gang leader Mangesh Pawar (26), a resident of Nimbode Dandwadi, and gang members Kishore Pawar (25), a resident of Shiravli, and Gurunath alias Kishore Hilam (27), a resident of Anandwadi, said Sachin Pawar, police inspector of Khalapur. PI Pawar said, “A total of 13 criminal cases involving theft, robbery and burglary were registered against the gang at Khalapur police station between 2017 and September 2025. Of the three accused, gang member Kishore Pawar was recently released from jail.
He had submitted a report to the Raigad SP seeking externment orders against the three accused. They robbed truckers and goods vehicle drivers on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and were also involved in house break-ins, extortion and other serious criminal offences. “
