Two women from Bangladesh were detained at Agartala railway station on Monday for illegally

NEW DELHI: Two women from Bangladesh were detained at Agartala railway station on Monday for illegally entering India.

The women, Nilufa Begum (34) and Jiasmin (30), are from the Shariatpur district of Bangladesh. The Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Intelligence Department conducted the joint operation. Police say they were apprehended Monday afternoon at the station. They planned to board a train, possibly to Delhi. Police officials believe the ongoing interrogation may reveal more important information.

The women will appear in court on Tuesday.

Ongoing Investigations at Agartala GRP Police Station

The Agartala GRP Police Station is currently conducting further questioning in connection with a case that has been registered there. Female officers are assisting in the investigation, which has raised suspicions that additional individuals may be involved. Authorities are preparing for more arrests as the inquiry progresses.
