Saravana said the establishment of a mega jewellery park was announced in the 2022-23 state budget, but the industries department has not taken proactive steps to allocate land and facilitate the project. Saravana said the association had earlier sought 50 acres of land in Phase 2 of Adinarayana Hosahalli Industrial Area in Bengaluru Rural district, but the department did not take any action.
“Setting up a mega jewellery park would generate thousands of crores of rupees in GST revenue for the state, while also making a significant contribution to the state’s economic growth by creating employment for 10,000 individuals,” Saravana said. Saravana said the chief minister assured the delegation that land would be provided in Bengaluru South. Wednesday, association president TA Saravana and other office-bearers met chief minister DK Shivakumar and submitted a requisition in this regard.
