BENGALURU: A 33-year-old hair stylist died after a car rashly driven by a retired techie rammed his two-wheeler on Kaggadasapura Main Road Monday. The victim, Naveen Narayansawamy, a Kaggadasapura resident, got married around 10 months ago, police said. The accused driver is K Ramanan, 63, from the same locality in east Bengaluru. He was booked under BNS Section 106 (causing death by rash and negligent act) and his car was seized.
After reviewing footage, a senior police officer said, “We were shocked to see the speed at which Ramanan was driving. No one drives at such high speed on a road like this in the city,” the officer said. ID@undefined Caption not available. The accident was recorded on CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop and the footage showed Ramanan driving at high speed as he hit Naveen’s gearless scooter and other vehicles.
Ramanan told cops he lost control over the vehicle in anxiety.
