Rain is unlikely from Friday to Sept 1. New Delhi: After parts of Delhi received rain Wednesday, there are chances of very light to light rain Thursday but no colour-coded warning has been issued.
Ayanagar in southwest Delhi logged 13.3 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, according to India Meteorological Department . In Aug so far, Safdarjung recorded 354.1 mm rainfall as opposed to the entire month’s normal of 233.1 mm. In the entire monsoon season so far, Safdarjung recorded 653.9 mm rainfall. The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius, which is near normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature was 33.4 degrees a day earlier.
During the same period, Safdarjung, the city’s base station, and Lodhi Road recorded just “trace” rainfall. The heat index or the “feels like” temperature stood at 42.8 degrees at 11.30 am.
The minimum temperature settled at 26.5 degrees Celsius, which is near normal.
“No significant change in maximum temperatures is expected during the next seven days,” said a Met official.
