Rockstar Games is keeping GTA 6 details locked down ahead of its November 19, 2026 release date, but the internet has other ideas. Exploring the water and ocean is set to be an important part of the GTA 6 experience, with the sheer number of small islands dotted around the map suggesting that boats and water-based travel will play a much larger role than in previous GTA entries. The alleged full Leonida map has leaked online, posted by a group known as Cyberleek. Rockstar is actively flagging and taking down posts related to the leak, which has only added fuel to the fire. How big is the GTA 6 Leonida map?

The headline takeaway from the leak is the sheer size of the map. The leaked Leonida map has no panhandle and is approximately twice the size of GTA V’s map, making it the largest open world Rockstar has ever built. The map is presented in full colour rather than the black-and-white version that replaced GTA V’s original map, making it considerably easier to read and giving the community a much clearer picture of the terrain and layout. It is also worth noting that the map could be hiding more details when you zoom in, which do not appear in the leak, meaning the full picture of what Leonida contains could be even more expansive than what has been seen so far.

This is going to be pretty significant for anyone trying to understand the full scope of what GTA 6 has to offer, and it is shaping up to be unlike any GTA map before. In the section below, we break down everything the leaked GTA 6 Leonida map reveals. The leaked Leonida map appears to have five counties in GTA 6: Kelly, Lummox, Leonard, Vice Dale, and Mariana. The leaked map features approximately 10 cities and towns spread across the five counties, giving Leonida a level of urban variety that dwarfs anything in GTA V.

This is what each county appears to offer: Lummox County – This county is in the north and is covered in thick vegetation and dense forest with very little infrastructure, according to the leaked map. Mount Kalaga is also going to be situated in this county. Leonard County – Built around a central waterbody that feeds into nearby suburbs, giving it the feel of a quieter, more residential area compared to the chaos of Vice Dale. Kelly County – This is going to be open land with little visible infrastructure, aside from a bay area on the western coast. Wide open spaces suggest this will be prime territory for high-speed chases and outdoor activities. Mariana County – Predominantly swamp and bayou terrain. A notable detail from the leak is a road leading south to an isolated airstrip off the coast, accessible via just one road in and out. Vice Dale County – Vice Dale County looks like the heart and soul of the Leonida map. There is infrastructure everywhere, and two distinct runways are visible, likely situated inside a massive airport. Vice City Airport is enormous, as Rockstar is reportedly trying to make the scale of planes feel comparable to real life. Vice Dale also appears split into two sections, with the main city on a larger island and a smaller area separated across the bay to the east. Beyond the mainland, the map also reveals several additional islands in the form of Dalton Island, Gloriana Key, and Catalan Key.
