Both boards target AMD Ryzen users and come loaded with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, PCIe 5.0, and DDR5 memory support with AMD EXPO compatibility. Colorful has launched two new Micro-ATX motherboards in India under its iGame B850M ULTRA lineup—the ULTRA-S and the ULTRA-OC.
The all-black matte-finish design is meant to pair cleanly with Colorful’s own iGame GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, for anyone going for a monochrome build. It runs a 14+2+1 phase power design with 80A DrMOS and dual 8-pin CPU connectors, supporting up to 256GB of DDR5 across four DIMM slots. Storage is covered by three M.2 slots—two PCIe 5.0 and one PCIe 4.0—alongside four SATA ports. The rear I/O includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port, HDMI, DisplayPort, and 2.5Gb Ethernet. The power design is a 10+2+1 phase 60A DrMOS setup. Networking gets an upgrade too: 5Gb Ethernet instead of 2.5Gb, which is a meaningful step up for anyone doing heavy file transfers or working in a NAS environment.
The ULTRA-S is the more mainstream-facing option. The ULTRA-OC is built differently. It drops to a dual-DIMM layout—capping total memory at 128GB—but pushes overclocking headroom further, with manual DDR5 speeds up to 8800MHz.
Compatibility extends to AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which is relevant for gamers who want the best gaming CPU available on the AM5 platform today. Both boards also carry four PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots between them—though the split differs—and both use M.2 Quick Latch for tool-free installation.
