Rajan Dubey

A police team visited Maharal village on Oct 20 to question him about their whereabouts. Dubey allegedly arrived with 20-25 supporters to protect Jha, intervened and tried to prevent police from performing their duties, claiming association with a major political party.
Police said Jha objected to the questioning and accused the personnel of harassment. Senior police inspector Mukesh Dhage, in charge of Titwala police station, and police sub-inspector Prashant Jadhav, who issued the notice to Rajan Dubey, were moved. The timing of the transfers raised questions, but Thane Rural superintendent of police Vinayakumar Rathod denied the action was linked to the case. The case followed an incident at a garba event in Kalyan Rural area, where some men allegedly brandished machetes, assaulted two people and issued threats in the early hours of Monday. A video of the incident went viral on social media. Police arrested Mahesh Jaiswar and Aayush Pandey, while a juvenile was sent to a remand home. Police were looking for four other suspects — Pratyush Jadhav, Vinayak Madhane, Roshan Chaudhary and Dipesh Lokhande. During the investigation, police allegedly learnt that Kaushal Jha, a Maharal village resident facing several criminal cases, was in contact with the wanted suspects and had allegedly sheltered them.
Kalyan: Two officers from Titwala police station were transferred to Thane Rural police control room on Thursday, a day after a notice was issued to a functionary of a political party in a case involving alleged obstruction of police personnel during an investigation into a weapon-display incident at a garba event.
