Alkarmi joined Dropbox in 2024 after holding leadership roles at Vimeo and Meta. He shares the list with his team, administration, and chief of staff so that others understand where his attention is directed.
In a statement to Business Insider, Alkarmi said the five priorities function as a filter for his schedule. “I pick things that I can make significant progress on in that quarter,” he said. Those priorities take precedence over competing demands that arise during the quarter, according to Alkarmi.
“And so it becomes a filter for how I prioritise my time. He became co-CEO in May, alongside Dropbox founder Drew Houston, and is expected to become the company’s sole CEO eventually.

Alkarmi has identified reducing customer churn as a crucial goal for the upcoming quarter. He emphasizes the need for “meaningful progress” in this area within the first three months of the year. To monitor his focus, he utilizes Trello, a work management tool, to track his top five priorities.
