A division bench of Justice C V Karthikeyan and Justice R Sakthivel was hearing a public interest litigation filed by S Muthukrishnan Ayyar, secretary of Sri Subramaniya Swamy Thirukoil Swathanthira Parabalana Sthalathar Sabha. The petitioner stated that there exists a traditional office known as Vidhayagar, which has been in existence and recognised in connection with the religious customs and practices of the temple from time immemorial.
