They have been on a hunger strike for 16 days; we are here to inquire about their well-being and to urge them to take care of their health, allow govt some time, and discuss their demands.
Patil said, “We have not come here to put any pressure on the students. After the last meeting this week, although the state tribal development minister put forward several timelines for solutions, the students are insisting on a govt resolution (GR) to be passed for each demand to ensure accountability. Additional police commissioner (East regional division) Manoj Patil, deputy commissioner of police Jeevan Beniwal, and deputy commissioner (special branch) Prashant Amrutkar visited the protest site and spoke with the students. Police vans and ambulances also arrived at the scene. We will also convey students’ demands to the CM through the police commissioner.”
On Friday, a group of police officers were seen at the Manjari tribal hostel campus deployed till late at night.
