Former minister T Harish Rao demanded that the state govt remove over 50,000 acres

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad : Former minister T Harish Rao demanded that the state govt remove over 50,000 acres from the 22-A prohibited properties list in the Patancheru assembly constituency. He alleged that nearly one lakh houses in the Patancheru constituency have been included in the 22-A list.

“Around 50,565 acres across five mandals had been included in the prohibited list. These include approximately 12,432 acres in Gummadidala, 3,200 acres in Ameenpur, 8,300 acres in Ramachandrapuram, 12,300 acres in Patancheru and 13,900 acres in Jinnaram,” Harish Rao said while speaking at a meeting on 22-A issues at Patancheru on Saturday. He met the families affected by 22-A.

The BRS leader said Patancheru is home to thousands of poor and middle-class families, workers and employees. It has become a statewide issue,” he said. “Properties in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Quthbullapur, Malakpet, Uppal and many other areas have also been affected. This is not a problem limited to one constituency.

Harish demanded that the Sangareddy district administration resolve the issue within a week. Otherwise, BRS will mobilise the farmers and residents affected by the 22A restrictions and lay siege to the Sangareddy collectorate along with the MLA and party leaders, he warned.
