The victim, T Ramachandra Rao, his nephew L Sai Kumar, and a few relatives visited the temple on Aug 27 to perform a puja for Kumar’s newly purchased Ertiga car.
The car suddenly moved forward and hit Rao, who was standing in front,” Jubilee Hills sub-inspector Lingam said. “After the puja, the priest asked Kumar to move the car forward as part of the vehicle ritual. Kumar, who was new to driving, pressed hard on the accelerator. Rao sustained multiple injuries, including a severe head injury. Family members rushed him to a private hospital in Gachibowli, where doctors declared him brought dead.
