New Framework Standardizes Remote Education in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced an updated framework aimed at aligning remote education with in-person classroom standards. This initiative is intended to ensure consistent teaching quality, student discipline, and academic outcomes across the emirate.
Under the revised guidelines, student attendance during online classes is now mandatory and must be recorded formally, mirroring the requirements for physical classroom attendance. This change emphasizes the importance of distance learning, aiming to reduce instances of passive or irregular participation.
A key aspect of the new rules is the stipulation that live, real-time teaching will serve as the primary method of instruction, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining high educational standards in both remote and in-person settings.
They cannot replace live teaching, marking a clear shift away from passive learning methods used earlier.
The updated rules aim to improve learning outcomes, strengthen student participation and ensure that distance education meets the same standards as classroom teaching, according to ADEK. Schools must implement structured schedules, monitor lesson delivery and ensure teaching remains interactive and effective. At the same time, teachers are expected to conduct engaging sessions, assess student progress regularly and provide continuous feedback.
