As of March 31, 2026, GIFT IFSC had 652 entities, including 487 domestic and 165 foreign entities. The govt has attributed the expansion to regulatory and policy measures introduced over the past five years.

The finance ministry said the expansion of GIFT IFSC was helping bring financial services onshore, attract domestic and international financial institutions, deepen capital markets and facilitate cross-border financial transactions. These include establishing IFSCA as a unified statutory regulator and introducing newer financial products and services, including aircraft and ship leasing and global in-house centres.
