The agency has since revised the rainwater harvesting design planned for Metro Phase-2, according to MahaMetro sources. Instead of exposed drainage pipes, rainwater in the Phase-2 corridor will be routed through PVC pipelines concealed within Metro piers and discharged into specially designed recharge zones beneath median flower beds.
MahaMetro acknowledged the issue and said it was examining the water seepage and drainage-related concerns. A team of officials will also inspect the site for blockages in the drains and clear them.
