Palakkad : A 30-year-old woman was killed after a private bus crashed into a scooter on which she was riding pillion at Stadium Bypass Road on Saturday evening. The deceased was Neethu, a native of Kannampariyaram.

The bus was travelling from Nenmara to Palakkad when it hit the scooter while attempting to overtake it, according to police. Neethu was thrown onto the road and came under the rear wheel of the bus. She died on the spot. Neethu had reached the city along with her relative Shreya to buy clothes. Shreya escaped unhurt in the accident. Neethu is survived by her husband Kalesh and children, Niya and Nivya. Download the TOI App.
