Belagavi : Following concerns raised by Ganeshotsav organisers over delays in the approval process, the city administration has decided to launch a single-window system for granting permissions to the public Ganeshotsav pandals across all eight police stations under the Belagavi police commissionerate from Aug 31.
“A single-window system will be operational in all eight police stations under the city police commissionerate from Aug 31.
Since applications related to various departments will be available at one place, the permission process will become much easier for organisers,” said Vikas Kalaghatgi, public relations head, Central Public Ganeshotsav Mahamandal. The decision was taken after office-bearers of the Central Public Ganeshotsav Mahamandal met police commissioner Bhushan Borase and highlighted the difficulties faced by the organisations in obtaining permissions from multiple departments. Currently, the public Ganeshotsav pandals need to secure approvals from the police department, Belagavi City Corporation, forest department, KSPCB, Hescom, and other agencies. Organisers had been demanding a single-window mechanism, in order to avoid a time-consuming and cumbersome routine. Under the new arrangement, applications and permission-related formalities of various departments will be made available at a single location in all eight police stations, significantly simplifying and expediting the approval process for the Ganesha pandals in the city.
