Idukki : Vellathooval Police in Idukki arrested a 26-year-old man from Palakkad in connection with the theft of two gold bangles from a resort at Kunchithanny. The incident occurred on Aug 16. Before leaving for a visit to Eravikulam, the family removed two gold bangles weighing 26 grams worn by a child and kept them in a bag inside the room.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation under the leadership of Vellathooval SHO Albin Sunny. The arrested person has been identified as Sinchu K of Vellara House in Nenmara, Palakkad. A family from Thiruvananthapuram was staying at a resort in the Maryland area of Kunchithanny. They locked the room and handed over the key at the reception before leaving. When the family returned after the visit, they found that the bangles were missing. A complaint was subsequently lodged with the Vellathooval police. Following the investigation, police traced and arrested the accused from Palakkad. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen gold bangles.
