She arrived during the Chiefs game, but the long day gave her something far more memorable than a simple trip between stadiums. It gave her a chance to be there for both sons. Travis Kelce and the Chiefs were scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead Stadium that evening. ET, leaving Donna only a few hours to get from Florida to Missouri. Travis Kelce Throws First NFL Touchdown in Chiefs’ Victory
Travis Kelce threw his first NFL touchdown pass during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 42-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The touchdown came in the fourth quarter, a two-yard pass to Byron Pringle. Kelce also had an impressive night receiving, finishing with five catches for 108 yards and one touchdown.
Donna, a fan who arrived late to the game, missed Kelce’s 48-yard touchdown catch just before halftime but witnessed the rest of his performance. After the game, she asked Kelce about the significance of throwing his first NFL touchdown.
Reflecting on the moment, Kelce recalled telling his mother at age five that he would one day throw a touchdown in the NFL. “Man, to finally throw a touchdown like I used to tell my mom when I was like five years old, that I was going to eventually throw a touchdown in the National Football League,” he said at the postgame news conference. “I finally got it done, it only took me nine years.”
