The public prosecutor said Gangwar was arrested Saturday night as he did not cooperate with the investigators. Kannale was detained in Delhi Sunday evening While Gangwar was arrested following his appearance before CID. Gyanendra was then the controller of examinations at KPSC. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is waiting for Gangwar’s CID custody to end to question him separately.
Bengaluru: A city court Monday remanded IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar and Tumakuru University syndicate member Basavaraj N Kannale to CID custody for 10 days in connection with alleged irregularities in the veterinary examination conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
A public prosecutor, however, objected to the request and told the court that he had already been subjected to a medical test and that there was no such emergency. Gangwar’s counsel requested the court to grant him bail on health grounds, saying the IAS officer is suffering from a disc bulge and asthma that need treatment.
