MUMBAI: Social activist Anna Hazare has been admitted to Bombay Hospital in Mumbai after his health deteriorated following a month-long bout of viral fever and recurring loose stools, a doctor told news agency ANI. The doctor said Hazare had been in and out of the Shirur hospital during this period. When the infection worsened slightly—and there were indications that it was beginning to affect his kidneys—it was decided to move him to Bombay Hospital for further testing, “the doctor said. He has since been started on appropriate treatment and is showing significant improvement, the doctor said.
Following a slight worsening of the infection and concerns over its possible impact on his kidneys, he was brought to Bombay Hospital for detailed investigations and treatment. At the time of admission, Hazare was stable, although he was experiencing weakness and fatigue. “At the time of admission, he was completely stable, though he was experiencing some weakness and fatigue. We have since initiated the appropriate treatment, and he is showing significant improvement and responding well to the therapy. He has been placed in a special ward room; there was no need to admit him to the ICU, ” the doctor added.
Dr Gautam Bhansali, consultant physician and infectious disease specialist, said Hazare was admitted to the hospital on Monday night and is currently under his care.
