Telangana trains talent pool for jobs in Germany, Japan Dream job concept
The state-run Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) has enrolled over 300 candidates for free German-language training and received more than 800 registrations for Japanese.
TOMCOM director Nirmala Kanti Wesley said the initiative marked a shift from demand-driven training to preparing candidates in advance based on overseas employment requirements. Hyderabad: Telangana is creating a pool of candidates trained in German and Japanese to help employers fill overseas vacancies faster.
German classes are being held in Hyderabad, Mandamarri, Kodangal and Nizamabad, with more than 150 candidates in Hyderabad, around 60 in Mandamarri, 52 in Kodangal and 30 in Nizamabad. For Japanese training, TOMCOM is screening the 800-plus registrants based on employers’ requirements, including qualifications, experience and willingness to relocate. Wesley said more than 700 job opportunities were available in Japan across driving, caregiving, construction and hospitality, though not all applicants would be selected for training.
Now, the govt and the leadership team have taken a decision to create a pool of candidates so that more employers can be attracted to Telangana,” she told TOI . Having candidates already in training would reduce the time taken to fill vacancies, she added. Training is expected to expand to Khammam and Siddipet. Trainees include nurses, electricians, physiotherapists and other skilled workers. The programme is at the pilot stage, with candidates expected to attain B1 or B2 proficiency depending on job requirements. TOMCOM hopes the advance preparation will help candidates access overseas jobs and employers recruit more quickly. Download the TOI App.
