Aspirant arrested; gave 10 wrong answers to hide fraud, say police — MPSC exam leak

MPSC cancelled the recruitment process last week and the exam is to be held afresh

Police said Rutuja Patil, the seventh accused in the case, deliberately gave 10 wrong answers during the exam to avoid raising suspicions. Police searched the residences of some of the suspects in Nandurbar. Investigators are now scrutinising bank transactions, digital communication and other financial records to establish the money trail, identify those who paid for the leaked paper, and determine whether anyone, apart from Patil, benefited from the racket.

Her father and her former boyfriend, who allegedly helped procure the questions and approached police after they broke up, were arrested earlier. Mumbai: Mumbai crime branch on Tuesday arrested a Nandurbar woman who allegedly cleared the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s (MPSC) drug inspector screening exam after the paper was leaked. She is being brought to Mumbai and will be produced in court on Wednesday.
