New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend following an ongoing dispute at Dhobi Ghat in central Delhi late Monday night. The accused has been arrested.

Inquiry revealed that the incident took place at 11.40pm, when Mathur met two friends, Shivam Chauhan and Shiv Kumar Gautam. A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the IP Estate police station and Chauhan was arrested.

Information was received at the IP Estate police station from LNJP Hospital that a man had been brought in with stab injuries, according to police. Police went to the hospital and found that Mathur had been declared dead on arrival. they had reportedly been involved in a dispute for the past few days While Mathur and Chauhan were friends. During the meeting, an argument ensued, following which Chauhan allegedly stabbed Mathur multiple times with a knife in the chest and abdomen. Gautam, who witnessed the incident, rushed Mathur to the hospital and later helped police identify the accused. Police have seized the knife allegedly used in the crime and an inquiry is underway to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the murder.
