Singh also announced that committees have been formed for distribution of govt funds to the 13 akharas and registered religious organisations participating in Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.
Speaking at a press conference held at the authority’s office, Singh said major infrastructure projects tied to the Kumbh Mela are progressing on schedule and will be finished within the stipulated timelines. The commissioner said the authority is working to ensure uniformity in design elements and signages across projects being implemented by different agencies. “Though multiple departments are executing the works, efforts are underway to maintain a common design language and standardised signages across all Kumbh-related infrastructure,” he said. Singh also said approval has been granted for the Mahatma Nagar-Motiwala College road, which is to be developed as the parallel road to exiting Gangapur Road. Work on these facilities is expected to begin shortly,” he said. Officials said timely completion of ongoing infrastructure works remains top priority as authorities gear up for an estimated record turnout of pilgrims during the upcoming Kumbh Mela.

Nashik : With the ceremonial flag hoisting for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela scheduled for Oct 31, Kumbh Mela Authority commissioner Shekhar Singh on Wednesday announced that all development work at Ramkund will be completed a few days ahead of the flag-hoisting ceremony — a key milestone in preparations for next year’s religious congregation. He added that over 350 infrastructure projects are currently underway across the city as part of Simhastha preparations. Three major Amrit Snans (holy baths) will take place between Aug and Sept 2027.

All major works are expected to be completed by March next year, according to Singh. On the issue of Sadhugram land acquisition, Singh said discussions with landowners are progressing and a positive solution is expected in the coming months. We are confident of resolving the Sadhu Gram land issue by the end of November, after which the pace of work will accelerate,” he said.
These include road development, construction and renovation of ghats, installation of water treatment plants, temple restoration, redevelopment of the Ramkund precinct, and expansion of airport infrastructure. “The municipal administration is handling the issue positively.
