New Delhi : Two Class VIII students were injured after a ceiling fan fell inside a classroom at a govt school in Sagarpur, southwest Delhi, Wednesday morning, according to school authorities.

2, Sagarpur. An official said one student was discharged after receiving first aid, while the other, a 12-year-old girl, suffered a cut on her forehead and required eight to nine stitches.

The exercise is aimed at examining whether schools are complying with prescribed norms and identifying deficiencies requiring corrective action, according to education department officials. The incident involved two girls studying at SKV No. School staff immediately rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident comes amid continuing concerns over infrastructure and maintenance in some Delhi govt schools. In July, a ceiling fan had fallen inside a classroom at a govt school in Kadipur. Videos of that incident surfaced on social media, raising questions about the condition of school infrastructure. Following the incident, school authorities had alleged that civic issues around the campus had remained unresolved despite repeated representations to the authorities concerned.
