The accident occurred around 3.20am on the Alappuzha–Thanneermukkom Road, the police said. Pramod told the police that he had parked and locked the bike in the courtyard of his house around 7.30pm on Wednesday and confirmed it was still there at 10pm.
Three men were riding the bike at high speed on the wrong side of the road when the accident occurred, according to eyewitnesses. The police said the bike the trio were riding belonged to K B Pramod, a library assistant at Govt College, Nattakom, Kottayam, and a native of Mannanchery. He learnt of the theft only after the police contacted him using the address on the vehicle’s registration certificate following the accident.
Kottayam: Two persons were killed and a third suffered serious injuries after the stolen motorcycle they were travelling on hit a stray dog and then collided head-on with another bike near Kaichundi Junction in Alappuzha on Thursday early morning, police said.
