In a major step toward modernising battlefield targeting, the US Army has finalised contracts totaling $192 million with defense tech leaders Palantir Technologies and Anduril Industries to manufacture eight production-grade Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) platforms. Under the newly announced procurement, military officials expect the eight specialised trucks to arrive over the next 18 months, split evenly between two chassis styles. Once delivered, the new fleet will integrate alongside existing field evaluation testbeds, including an initial evaluation prototype sent to Washington state’s Joint Base Lewis-McChord back in 2024.

The vehicles also serve as a crucial building block for the Department of War’s broader Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) network, a unified operational communication web long sought by military planners, according to a report by The Axios. These advanced mobile ground stations will serve as the backbone for the military branch’s deep-sensing ambitions and long-range precision fires programs, improving the ability of troops to pinpoint, monitor and strike targets with high accuracy from greater distances. The first will be an advanced heavy variant with four units using the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) foundation. This heavier build incorporates expanded interior space designed for massive antenna systems and high-density computer processing racks. The second will be the basic agile variant and four units will rely on the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) footprint, prioritising speed and off-road mobility across rugged terrains. The TITAN system replaces legacy tactical workflows and physical paper maps with artificial intelligence (AI). The platform aggregates massive intelligence streams, including real-time feeds transmitted from orbital space assets, and filters the data instantly to supply field commanders with actionable combat alerts.

The Army is also assessing other configurations, including a lightweight prototype mounted to an Infantry Squad Vehicle previously appeared during an Association of the US Army conference.
