A city bus caught fire at the bus stand near Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar railway station

The incident occurred around 8am near railway station

A group of around 20 to 25 passengers who were inside the stationary bus moved out quickly after the drivers and conductors of nearby buses raised an alarm. “No passenger was injured in the accident,” the authorities said. Amol Kulkarni, in-charge of the city bus section of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC), said a spark in the bus wiring led to the fire. Precautionary measures have been ordered involving all the buses,” he said.

A fire call was received around 8am following which a team from the Padampura fire station rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. “The bus has not received much damage and is expected to get repaired in the next two days. Download the TOI App.
