New Delhi: The principal of a private playschool in northeast Delhi’s Maujpur has been arrested for allegedly failing to prevent the physical abuse of a three-and-a-half-year-old boy on the school premises, police said.
The school attendant, accused of assaulting the child, was arrested earlier in the case.

The child’s father approached police after noticing a marked change in his behaviour, according to the FIR. Police said allegations of inappropriate touching are also being probed under the Pocso Act . The boy had allegedly become fearful of going to school and using the washroom and was unable to sleep properly. Delhi govt has ordered sealing of the premises. Download the TOI App.
The family later accessed CCTV footage, which allegedly showed the child being assaulted between Aug 16 and 18.
An ENT specialist found swelling in his eardrums and suspected physical abuse, according to the complaint. The footage purportedly shows him being slapped, kicked and pulled by his ears. His medical examination later recorded swelling on his left thigh and an abrasion near his left eye.
