An Indian-origin detective sergeant with London’s Metropolitan Police has been charged with five counts of sexual assault, Scotland Yard said. “DS Patel was charged on Friday, 24 July, with five counts of sexual assault,” the force said. “The charges relate to four women known to DS Patel. They continue to be supported by investigating officers,” the Met added. He was suspended from duty the same day, adding “the charges relate to four women known to DS Patel. The Met said Patel was charged on July 24 following an investigation into allegations involving four women known to him.
