Mumbai: Following a tweet from Shiv Sena politician and MP Milind Deora about a traffic policeman discarding a bicycle to clear a path for a VIP convoy, the traffic department issued a ‘default report’ regarding the incident on Thursday. Deora’s tweet highlighted concerns over the treatment of public property during such events, raising questions about the protocols in place for VIP movements in the city.

The incident had occurred in south Mumbai. The constable was posted with the Pydhonie traffic division. The default report was sent by the Pydhonie traffic division to superiors in the department, who will decide on the action to be taken. Deora had tagged Mumbai Police and the traffic department and demanded strict action. “Regardless of who the VIP is, pushing a working cyclist and his bicycle is unacceptable. Every citizen deserves dignity,” Deora had tweeted on X. The video shows a traffic policeman flinging a bicycle while adjusting barricades to allow a VIP convoy to pass.
