Bengaluru: A two-year relationship built on repeated promises of marriage took a violent turn as a 33-year-old man accused his lover of attacking him with an iron object following a heated argument at her west Bengaluru home. Sagar said he called Sujatha multiple times on Sept 2, but she did not answer.
A tattoo artist, he had known private firm employee Sujatha (name changed) for around two years, and they fell in love, according to a complaint filed by Sagar (name changed). He alleged that she had repeatedly promised to marry him, often saying she would marry him “tomorrow”, while gradually taking money from him. He subsequently went to her home at Gollarahatti, where he allegedly saw her having an “obscene” conversation with another man over a video call.
Sagar said he managed to escape and reached a private hospital nearby, where he received treatment.
