In a tragic incident on Friday night, two motorcyclists lost their lives when a speeding truck, transporting Indane gas cylinders, collided with their motorcycle in the Kalyanpur area of Kanpur. The collision occurred as the truck attempted to overtake the motorcycle.
Following the accident, the truck driver reportedly attempted to flee the scene. However, police quickly pursued the vehicle and successfully intercepted it near the Panki canal. The driver has been taken into custody, and the truck has been seized for further investigation.
Fatal Motorcycle Accident Involving Truck in Panki
A tragic accident occurred in Panki, where a truck collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two men. Eyewitnesses reported that the victims, identified as Sachin Valmiki, 25, from Maswanpur-Rawatpur, and his neighbor Suraj, 35, were traveling towards Panki when the truck, coming from the direction of the Panki canal, struck them. The impact caused both men to fall onto the road, where they were subsequently run over by the truck, dying instantly.
Local residents responded quickly, contacting the police through the emergency helpline 112. Following the incident, the victims’ families lodged a formal complaint, demanding action against the truck driver. Keshav Kumar Tiwari, the in-charge at Kalyanpur police station, confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint and that further investigations are ongoing.
Details of Sachin’s Recent Departure
Sachin, the youngest member of his family, left home on Friday evening to travel to Panki with his friend Suraj. He had recently married Soni three months prior and was employed in a private job. His brother Nitin provided this information regarding Sachin’s activities before his departure.
