On Saturday, authorities in Kanpur discovered the body of a 32-year-old man by the roadside near Namak Factory Chauraha in the Rawatpur area. His wife told police that Diwakar was addicted to alcohol and often returned home in an inebriated state and assaulted her. Rawatpur police station in-charge Kamlesh Kumar Roy said the body has been sent for postmortem examination and the exact cause of death would be clear only after the report is received. Further action will be taken based on the report, he said.
