Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has launched an investigation into complaints of irregularities in the 2023 nursing officer recruitment at KGMU, Lucknow.

Investigation into Nursing Officer Recruitment at University

An STF (Special Task Force) team visited a university on Saturday to gather documents concerning the recruitment of 1,276 nursing officers. The investigation focused on the offices of the vice-chancellor and registrar, where officials sought records related to various stages of the recruitment process. This inquiry was prompted by complaints made to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by several public representatives, including Congress MLA Virendra Chaudhary, who alleged significant irregularities in the hiring process.

A major issue raised in the complaints relates to an alleged change in the examination system after the recruitment advertisement was issued. Complainants claimed that while the original notification prescribed a different procedure, the examination was conducted through a manual OMR-based system. They argued that altering the examination methodology midway violated rules and required investigation. Another concern pertains to the selection of a large number of candidates from Rajasthan. Complainants alleged that eligible Uttar Pradesh candidates were overlooked despite the recruitment being conducted by a state institution. The STF is examining the entire process, including the advertisement, examination methodology, candidate records, selection lists and documents related to procedural changes.
