A six-year-old boy drowned on Saturday evening after reportedly falling into a water-filled pit near his home in the BBD police station area of Lucknow. Local police confirmed the incident, highlighting the dangers posed by such unguarded water sources. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Harshit of Deeh village was out with his friend Nandish (6) near their houses at around 4 pm, according to information. Police said Harshit went towards a water-filled pit to urinate but reportedly lost his footing and fell into the water. Nandish immediately alerted family members, who rushed to the spot and pulled Harshit out of the pit.

The child was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
