Andhale is among eight accused in the abduction and brutal killing of Massajog sarpanch on Dec 9, 2024 and has been on the run to evade arrest by the police. The 30-year-old is the resident of Maindwadi village in Dharur taluka of Beed district.

Earlier, Deshmukh family had said that police would be responsible if Adhale destroys evidence. Stating that Andhale poses threat to Deshmukh family, Dhananjay demanded that the police authorities must arrest him as soon as possible. Walmik Karad, a close aide of former cabinet minister and Parli NCP MLA Dhananjay Munde, is the alleged mastermind of the murder.

Additional director general of police (CID) Sunil Ramanand said, “One suspect is still at large. He added,” However, the biggest difficulty in the investigation is that the accused (Andhale) does not use any mobile phone currently, so it is difficult to trace him. TOI made repeated calls to deputy inspector general Basavraj Teli, who is heading the special investigation team (SIT) in the Deshmukh murder case and also sent messages seeking his response on Dhananjay Deshmukh’s claim. However, there was no response till the time of going to press. Our investigation is on in the case, and the SIT is trying to nab the suspects. If the suspect, who is on the run, had visited Beed, I will personally look into the matter.”
