New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy died following a fight with a group of minor boys at a park allegedly over a cricket match in West Delhi ’s Tilak Nagar area on Monday evening, police said. The incident took place at around 7.22pm on Feb 23, within the jurisdiction of Tilak Nagar police station, according to police. The victim, a minor, reportedly played cricket at Woodland Park when he got into an argument with a 12-year-old boy. Police said the 12-year-old later went home and informed his cousins, aged 17 and 13, about the dispute. Subsequently, all three juveniles allegedly returned to the park area in search of the 15-year-old. “At about 7.22pm, the two sides confronted each other again, and a fight broke out. During the scuffle, blows were exchanged, and the 15-year-old sustained injuries to his neck and head.
He fell unconscious at the scene,” a senior police officer said. An FIR was registered in connection with the incident, and all three children in conflict with the law (CCLs) were apprehended, police said. The quarrel escalated into a physical altercation between the two. The injured boy was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Further investigation is underway.
